About
A well of book ideas, by Stewart Ferris.
Storywell helps authors start. Choose a genre and sub-genre, add any themes, locations or fragments you already have, and receive either a fiction story summary or a non-fiction contents list — specific enough to argue with, not a mood board of clichés.
It is built by Stewart Ferris, a writer and publisher who has written more than forty books (among them How to Get Published, How to be a Writer, and the novel The Sphinx Scrolls), published hundreds of others, and spent a career reading manuscripts that almost work. The tool is the sort of first pass a commissioning editor might sketch before asking whether the book is really there. His view on where AI belongs — and where it does not — is in Ethical use of AI by writers.
Use the result as a spark, a synopsis draft, or a table of contents to dismantle. The book remains yours. The shop holds the practical handbooks, and the companion studios cover openings, names, contracts, prizes and the day’s word count. For the wider site, visit stewartferris.com.
